Calhoun County is a county found in the state of West Virginia. The current county seat in Calhoun County is Grantsville. Calhoun County had 6,229 occupants in 2020, as indicated by a local census.

It was formed in 1856.

It was named for South Carolina politician John C. Calhoun. He was an American statesman and political theorist from South Carolina who served in many important positions, including as the seventh vice president of the United States from 1825 to 1832.
