In 2018, the total number of crimes reported in Wayne County was 49, including 7 violent crimes and 42 property crimes. The violent crimes reported include four rapes. two robberies, and one aggravated assault. The property crimes reported include 14 burglaries, 23 larcenies, one motor vehicle theft, and one arson.

An examination of these figures, compared with the numbers reported in 2014, shows a massive decline in total crimes reported over 5 years. Between 2014 and 2018, violent crimes reported in Wayne County were rape (100%), robbery (100%), and aggravated assault (-67%). Where property crimes were burglary (75%), larceny (-77%), and motor vehicle theft (75%). There was no report of arson in 2014.
