Grant County exists in the state of West Virginia. The current county seat in Grant County is Petersburg. Back in 2020, there were 11,976 total inhabitants.
It was formed in 1866.
It was named for Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant. He was an American soldier and politician who served as the 18th president of the United States from 1869 to 1877.

NOTE - There are several rules that need to be followed in order for Grant County requesters to obtain records. The office is only open between 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. EST from Monday to Friday.
