Mineral County can be found in the state of West Virginia. The current county seat is Keyser. A local census found that Mineral County had 26,938 people in 2020.

It was formed in 1866.

The name was selected due to its reserves of minerals, especially coal - although coal, a type of sedimentary rock, is not a mineral because it does not have a crystalline structure.
